“This resource was developed through Exploring Church Spaces, a qualitative research project by the Emmanuel Gospel Center that examines how congregations in Greater Boston are using their properties for missional impact, community vitality, and long-term sustainability. The webpage features an executive summary of findings, a video explaining the project, and articles exploring themes such as innovative space use, shared partnerships, and the challenges of maintaining aging church buildings.

We’ve used these materials in conversations and workshops with pastors, church administrators, and community leaders to help them think creatively about how their buildings can better serve both their congregations and neighborhoods. Others might find it useful as a framework for assessing their own church facilities, identifying opportunities for collaboration, or discerning next steps toward faithful and sustainable stewardship of space.”
