El Refugio is gaining momentum as we have now completed the team that is supporting the shelter ministry. We have a dynamic mix of experience, age, cultural background, and skillsets to grow the capacity of El Refugio and highlight its importance in the community engagement work of the local United Methodist Church. With a team of pastors, lay leaders, and volunteers, we are excited to serve our migrant neighbors through daily dinners, overnight services, case management, job training, ESL classes, and spiritual care. It is a lot to manage, but we are witnessing the generosity and hospitality of the Spirit at work each day!
