Leading Wholeness: Resilience in Times of Challenge and Change (Baltimore)

Beginning in Spring 2025, the Leading Wholeness: Resilience in Times of Challenge and Change Affinity Working Group has met on several occasions to continue to deepen relationships and deepen learning focused on ways to lead through various types of challenge and change that we and other leaders face in our churches and communities. We have explored common and distinctive forms of volatility, uncertainty, complexity, and ambiguity (VUCA) in our ministry settings. Highlights of our working group have been three lunch gatherings, a book study on Tod Bolsinger’s, Tempered Resilience, two online informal group discussions with facilitators focusing on resilience and trauma-informed leadership, and four in-person/online Leading Wholeness workshops in October and November 2025, focusing on trauma-informed leadership and resilience (led by Dr. Martina Efodzi, Mr. Shaun Elbert, GiGi Kahnyezi, and Dr. Deborah Haskins. Along with Affinity Working Group members, persons in our broader ministry network were invited to participate in the Leading Wholeness workshops. We continue to explore ways to support each other’s ministry, collaborate, and lead well amidst ongoing challenge and change.
