Parents are Human

May 18, 2026 Topics: Arts and Community, Facilitating and Learning

Parents Are Human is a community-created card game to help connect us to one another across language, cultural, and generational differences. Created by a pair of siblings with the goal to get to know their parents better, each card contains a question or prompt that would spark compassionate conversation. Since the original card deck, additional decks were created to help with other conversations such as Children are Human, Teenagers are Human, Friends are Human, and Grief is Human.

This resource could be helpful in various ministry contexts as a way to open up deeper conversations. For example, inviting teens to choose questions (spice levels one and two) or activities around the dinner table could lead to more openness to listen and share beyond what has happened that day. Or this could be taken to an intergenerational retreat to facilitate small group conversations.
