CCST Vancouver hosted a public seminar, Hope Amidst the Wounds: A Trauma Theologian’s Confession, in partnership with Vancouver Chinese Baptist Chruch. Rev. Dr. Andres Tang offered a heartfelt reflection on his journey through the unexpected loss of his wife. Speaking with honesty and pastoral insight, he shared how grief and suffering reshaped his understanding of God’s presence in seasons of pain. Drawing from trauma theology, Rev. Tang described how he gradually encountered healing and restoration—not by avoiding sorrow, but by allowing his wounds to become places where God’s grace and companionship could be discovered anew. His testimony invited listeners to consider how hope can emerge even in the most vulnerable parts of our lives.
